Hey Tina,

so I went to EEOC, they can’t help me unless retaliation was race, age, religious reasons. 😳no whistleblowing there. The intake guy gave me a list of lawyers.
Now, unemployment says my former boss is claiming MISCONDUCT as to why I was fired...

WTAF is that?

have a phone interview with him and unemployment office next week.

HELP!!!!????

When the report is made, he has to come up with some logical reason to justify your termination. Unfortunately for him, they are going to hear your side of the story as well. They may also interview coworkers of yours.

Employers and people who hold salon operating licenses are obligated to follow the laws and regulations. Your refusal to allow the owner to pick and choose which laws and regulations he wanted to follow (and disobey those he didn't) doesn't constitute misconduct by any means. Be sure to repeat that sentence during the interview. You also hold a professional license and are bound by regulations as well, and working in a non-compliant salon now only jeopardizes your standing, but your professional reputation and, therefore, your livelihood.

He was pissed to be held accountable. That's what this comes down to. His decision to terminate you, despite your solid work record, indicates that his motivation was retaliation. It doesn't take a detective to crack this case, lol.
